About Fair Observer Fair Observer is an independent, nonprofit media organization that engages in citizen journalism and civic education. It publishes more than 3,000 authors from 90 countries, cutting across borders, backgrounds and beliefs. Some of them are former prime ministers, former diplomats and retired intelligence officers. Others are young people from around the world. Anyone can publish with us, but everyone goes through the same fact-checking and a rigorous editorial process. In a nutshell, we provide diversity and quality in an era of echo chambers and fake news. We are unique: no one else does what we do. Job Description The Assistant Editor will assist senior editors to edit submissions from around the world. The main job is to check facts and ensure that the final product is up to Fair Observer’s high standards. Responsibilities As Assistant Editor, you will: Attend editorial meetings Review submissions assigned to you by senior editors Fact-check author’s claims and hyperlinks where necessary Follow Fair Observer’s editorial guidelines Notify senior editors when you finish your editing tasks #J-18808-Ljbffr Fair Observer
