Journeyman Electrician

Position Overview The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing a variety of journey-level electrical work such as installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the utilization and distribution of electric energy. Key Responsibilities Installs, replaces and repairs lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels. Tests continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of systems, following installation, replacement, or repair. Troubleshoots and isolates faults in electrical and electronic systems and removes and replaces faulty components. Connects electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems. Splices, joins and connects wire to fixtures and components to form circuits. Conducts preventative maintenance tasks and maintains accurate maintenance records. Complete and generate work orders in the CMMS Submit and maintain timely and accurate documentation in the CMMS. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to plan and cost electrical projects. Create and submit estimates for projects to the project manager for review and approval. Oversees external vendors to ensure quality and timeliness of work. Ability to complete electrical installations that meet the code requirements and approvals from the County Building Department and the signing supervisor. Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner. Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None. This position reports to the Plant Facilities Manager. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of packaging, milling, and material handling equipment. Ability to read and understand drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications. Proficiency with job-related tools and equipment. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Possesses effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others. Ability to follow exact procedures and protocols. Ability to adapt to changes, problems, and shifting priorities. Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to read, understand, and communicate operational and safety information in English. Demonstrates Respect, Teamwork, Accountability, and Determination. Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present. Education and Experience 6 or more years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, AND Has a current general or plant journeyman electrician licensure with the state of Oregon (or the ability to obtain Oregon licensure prior to hire) AND Completion of vocational or apprenticeship or equivalent training is required; OR Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks. Completion of a vocational or apprenticeship or equivalent training is required. Physical Demands Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work off ladders and elevated work platforms. Position may require standing for long periods of time. Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment Use of protective equipment such as welding helmets, safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves are mandatory. This position will perform work within all areas of the facility and may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and extremes and difference in temperature.
