Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM | 8-Hour Shifts | Weekend & Holiday Coverage Required


Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) for a 13-week travel contract opportunity in Watertown, New York. The OR RN will provide perioperative nursing care while maintaining a safe and aseptic surgical environment and supporting patients throughout their operative experience.


Candidates should possess strong assessment, prioritization, communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills and be comfortable participating in weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage.


Responsibilities

• Assess surgical patients and provide safe, individualized perioperative nursing care based on clinical and procedural needs.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic technique while safely using clinical equipment and instrumentation in the Operating Room environment.
• Monitor patient condition, recognize safety concerns and dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions when necessary.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe and efficient surgical care.
• Prioritize and delegate nursing activities appropriately and participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage with a 30-minute response requirement.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required.
• Current BLS Certification Required; ACLS Certification Preferred.
• Operating Room Nursing Experience and Prior Travel Nursing Experience Required.
• Must Reside More Than 100 Miles From the Work Location and Be Able to Meet the Required 30-Minute On-Call Response Time.

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will provide skilled, patient-centered perioperative care while supporting safe and efficient surgical services.
