CARES Certified Peer Specialist - Fulton County South Service Center - Day Shift

Job Summary The Lead CARES Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) works with people who experience serious mental illness and acts as a role model of recovery. CPS provides group and/or individual training and counseling, as well as service coordination, support for community linkage, and advocacy support to meet individual needs. Assists with completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP). May work in a clinic, peer program, or community setting. Qualifications High school diploma or GED is required Current certification as Peer Specialist (CPS) through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is required Two years of experience with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and/or addictive disease is required Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider Card is required CARES certification is required Bachelor's degree is preferred Core Competencies Patient-Centered Care - Demonstrates a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that prioritizes the well-being and satisfaction of patients and their families.
