Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Madison, WI, responsible for leading the overall operations of the swim school location. This includes overseeing daily scheduling, class flow, and facility readiness to ensure a safe and positive experience for children and families. The General Manager leads, coaches, and develops team members, manages staffing levels, and supports performance, engagement, and retention. The role also includes monitoring financial performance, managing budgets, and supporting local marketing and community outreach to drive enrollment and customer satisfaction. The General Manager works closely with parents and guardians, handling feedback, resolving concerns, and maintaining high service standards that reflect Emler’s mission and values. Qualifications Leadership and people management skills, including team coaching, performance management, and staff development. Operational management experience, such as scheduling, workflow coordination, and facility or retail location oversight. Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with families and address feedback professionally. Basic financial and business acumen, including budgeting, tracking revenue and expenses, and supporting local marketing efforts. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to child safety, positive learning environments, and mission-driven work with families and communities. Previous experience in hospitality, education, recreation, fitness, or child-focused programs is beneficial.
