Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized plans of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health.
• Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments for ancillary personnel, including Nurse Assistants and Patient Care Associates.
• Identify and facilitate ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs by communicating with appropriate resource persons and participating in planning conferences.
• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and assume a leadership role within the care team.
• Precept and mentor new employees and students; teach and guide professional and ancillary personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Ability and willingness to float to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit as needed.
• Active Michigan RN license required.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current NIHSS certification required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certifications in TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN are a plus.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Neurosurgical experience preferred.
• Open heart experience preferred.
