UNC Health is currently seeking a Board Eligible/Certified Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our multi-specialty practice in Wilmington, NC. This team is part of an innovative partnership between UNC Health, UNC School of Medicine and Novant Health to provide specialty care to children from communities throughout southeastern and coastal NC. The Novant Health - New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH-NHRMC) facility is a full spectrum community-based, multispecialty practice and a children's hospital that includes a 45 bed Level III NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and inpatient unit. This position will also be expected to develop and perform clinical activities in surrounding outreach locations in southeastern NC. As a top-tier academic medical center, UNC Children's upholds a four-tiered mission to \"CARE,\" aligning clinical care, advocacy, research, and education to deliver world-class family-centered care. The UNC Division of Pediatric Endocrinology in Chapel Hill is nationally known as a center of excellence for care of children with diabetes or endocrinologic problems. This includes multidisciplinary clinics in Turner Syndrome, gender wellness, and disorders of sexual development clinic. Through the partnership between Novant Health and UNC Children's, NH-NHRMC will become the tertiary care referral hospital for children in Coastal and Southern NC. Additionally, there will be ongoing expansion of educational opportunities with medical students, other health profession students, and residents. Though not the primary focus of the center, research opportunities are also available. Expertise in management of high prevalence endocrinology conditions of children but also willingness and interest in managing rare and complex conditions with the support of the UNC Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill is expected. This is a full-time position, with focus on outpatient care but also to include some inpatient consultation services. The candidate must be board certified / eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology. Expertise in management of high prevalence endocrinology conditions of children but also willingness and interest in managing rare and complex conditions with the support of the UNC Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill is expected.
