This company provides comprehensive HR, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and workforce support services to businesses across a variety of industries. As part of a collaborative HR team, the Benefits Specialist will play a key role in supporting employee benefit programs, ensuring a positive employee experience, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys helping employees navigate benefits programs, solving problems, and working with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.Job DescriptionThe Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration, communication, and maintenance of employee benefit programs. This role serves as a resource for employees regarding benefits enrollment, eligibility, claims, and plan options while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits AdministrationAssist with employee enrollment, changes, and termination of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.Maintain accurate employee benefits records within the HRIS system.Process benefits-related data and support compliance reporting requirements, including ACA reporting.Employee SupportRespond to employee questions regarding benefit plans, policies, and eligibility requirements.Assist employees with claims issues, benefit concerns, and plan-related inquiries.Educate employees on available benefit options to help them make informed decisions.Vendor CoordinationServe as a liaison between employees and third-party benefit providers.Communicate with insurance carriers, retirement plan administrators, and other vendors to resolve issues.Track and follow up on claims and service-related concerns.Compliance & DocumentationSupport compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.Assist with benefit audits, reporting, documentation, and regulatory filings.Maintain accurate and confidential benefits records.Benefits Communication & TrainingAssist in developing and distributing open enrollment materials, benefit summaries, and policy updates.Support benefits education initiatives, employee training sessions, and informational workshops.Ensure employees receive timely and accurate benefits communications.Open Enrollment SupportProvide guidance and assistance during annual open enrollment periods.Help employees complete benefit elections and ensure all required documentation is processed accurately and on time.Reporting & Administrative SupportPrepare reports related to enrollment activity, benefits utilization, and program costs.Support leave administration processes, including FMLA and short-term disability tracking.Perform additional benefits and HR-related administrative duties as assigned.QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Strong customer service and employee support skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve employee concerns effectively.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.PreferredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.1 to 3 years of experience in benefits administration, human resources, or a related field.Knowledge of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration processes.Understanding of compliance regulations such as HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, FMLA, and related employment laws.Experience working with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, or benefits vendors.BenefitsOur partner’s benefits include PTO, holidays, 401K. health, dental, vision and life insurance, HSA/FSA, dependent care account options, short/long term disability, hospital confinement plan, and accident insurance.How to ApplyTake the first step on your new career path!
