About the Role
Join an early-stage AI operations software company as its first in-person engineering hire in New York City. You will own the core systems that connect AI-powered workflows with business platforms and keep critical wholesale operations running reliably.
What You'll Do
Take customer-facing features from discovery through design, implementation, and production.
Design secure, auditable data models and event-driven pipelines for AI-powered workflows.
Develop internal and external APIs and a real-time operator console for operational visibility.
Build integrations with ERP, logistics, retail, and freight platforms, along with a resilient synchronization layer.
Establish observability, service-level objectives, and on-call practices for mission-critical workflows.
Work across backend, data engineering, and frontend systems to address high-impact problems.
What We're Looking For
Two to six years of software engineering experience, including hands-on product development at a startup or small team.
A strong full-stack foundation and experience building robust, reliable production systems.
Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, Tailwind, Postgres, queues or streams, and AWS or GCP.
Ability to lead work end to end, with strong systems thinking and product intuition.
Strong technical fundamentals and experience in a high-growth environment; early-career candidates with especially strong technical signals are also encouraged to apply.
Interest in AI-enabled business operations and integrations is useful.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $160,000 to $250,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site five days a week in New York City, New York, United States. Candidates must be willing to work on-site or relocate.
