Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least 1 year of OR experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications from the AHA.

Details

• Hospital-based OR Complex with 23 ORs operating out of 18 suites
• Patient population includes neurology, urology, oncology, gynecology, robotics, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, OMF, and general surgery cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12 schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• On-call is required: 2 primary and 2 backup calls over a 2-month period with rotating self-sign-up; call hours are Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend hours as required by the facility
• Floating required as needed by the facility
• Epic EMR in use
• Equipment varies depending on surgical specialty
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the AHA required (no expiring certifications within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled)
• Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience required
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs are not accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Facility has earned a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of "A"
• Light blue scrubs required; scrubs are provided by the facility
• A professional, enthusiastic personality with willingness to participate in all aspects of perioperative teamwork is strongly preferred
• 1+ years of travel nursing experience and OR certification are preferred but not required
• Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, a minimum 1-year separation or reassignment outside the 50-mile radius is required
