Surgical Tech – Operating Room (OR) | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Redwood City, CA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a fast-paced Operating Room. The Surgical Tech will assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, organizing surgical instruments, and supporting surgeons during a variety of procedures. Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-volume acute care setting and be flexible with scheduling and call requirements.

Assignment Details

• 13-week travel assignment
• Day shifts with 10-hour varied schedules
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Variable shift start times between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM
• No regular evening or weekend shifts
• On-call requirement: 1 shift per week and every 4th weekend
• No floating required
• Orientation includes one week of hospital onboarding and one week with a preceptor
• Documentation system: Cerner Surginet

• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) experience
• BLS Certification required
• COVID vaccination required
• Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical specialties preferred
• Cerner Surginet experience strongly preferred
• Experience with orthopedic procedures is highly desirable
• Candidates with robotic and cardiovascular surgical experience are preferred for those specialty cases
• Ability to maintain a sterile field and anticipate surgeon needs throughout procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary surgical environment
