Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 9 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Allscripts/Eclipsys is preferred.

• 9 months of acute care experience within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - HCA - North TX Division.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Telemetry experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Cardiac recognition. - IV starts.

Unit Details: - 5:1 on the 4th floor Med Surg Specialty unit; 6:1 on the 5th floor Med Surg unit. - Uses remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps. - Typical procedures include chole, appy, colectomy, diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart caths, run offs, gastric sleeves, total hip, knee and shoulder replacements, and ortho trauma repairs (fractures).

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend shifts are required. No on-call.

Floating Requirements: - Mandatory float as needed to inpatient rehab, ED, and PCU. Will not be given an assignment outside of skill level or scope.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
