The Warehouse Assistant - Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations and maintaining a safe working environment within a general merchandise setting. Operating primarily on the day shift, this position involves not only the routine tasks of loading, unloading, and organizing goods but also focuses on safety coordination to uphold OSHA compliance and general warehouse safety standards. The role supports a medium-sized team and reports directly to the Operations Supervisor, relying on manual inventory tracking and active collaboration to promote smooth and secure operations.

 

Responsibilities

• Load and unload merchandise safely and efficiently
• Manage shipping and receiving processes accurately
• Maintain organized warehouse layout and inventory storage
• Track inventory using manual systems
• Collaborate with team members to support smooth operations
• Report to Operations Supervisor with updates and issues
• Adhere to safety procedures at all times
• Deliver products to job sites
• Pick up supplies using company vehicles
• Coordinate and enforce OSHA compliance and general warehouse safety standards

 

Required Qualifications

• Forklift Operator Certification
• Valid driver’s license

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with inventory management systems
• Forklift operation skills
• Physical stamina for manual labor
• Attention to detail
• Effective time management
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Knowledge of safety procedures
