Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and release end-to-end backend and frontend features for a data-focused product.
• Develop RESTful APIs and frontend functionality using supported programming languages and frameworks.
• Design software architecture and work with large-scale relational and non-relational databases for low-latency requirements.
• Containerize solutions and work with distributed cloud-native clusters.
• Own complex work and project lifecycles with significant responsibility.
• Support products built with open-source data technologies such as Kafka, Trino, DuckDB, and Superset.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building RESTful APIs, preferably with Go; Java, Python, Rust, and Scala are also accepted.
• 5+ years of experience with frontend frameworks such as React, focused on TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Deep software design and architecture experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch or similar large-scale databases.
• Experience building and releasing software in cloud-native environments.
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, and NPM or other package and dependency managers.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including containerization and distributed clusters.
• Experience using AI coding assistants.
• STEM background or relevant industry experience.
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to work within the continental United States.
• Valid, active U.S. passport with at least six months of validity beyond the intended employment period is required for international travel.
• Kafka or RabbitMQ, Delta Lake, and AWS or Azure experience are highly preferred.
