Position: Software Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Camarillo, CA

Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer III to join a high-performing team developing advanced embedded software solutions for complex aerospace systems. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of real-time software supporting next-generation platforms.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain embedded real-time software systems.
• Collaborate within an Agile (Scrum) team to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software and system-level defects.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers to define and implement technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and key technical milestones.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
• Utilize modern development tools and environments, including version control and issue tracking systems.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
• Experience programming in at least one high-level language such as C, C++, C#, or Ada.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, or similar).
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing real-time embedded systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Ada programming.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle for large-scale systems.
• Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, DOORS, or similar.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in electronic warfare or complex defense-related systems is a plus.
