Prep Cook Full Time Las Vegas Las Vegas, NV, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1159 Salary Range: $22.00 To $25.00 Annually The Prep Cook at KYU plays a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently. The Prep Cook is knowledgeable about ingredients and technical processes and works collaboratively with other kitchen staff. Prep Cooks at KYU take ownership of preparing ingredients, managing their stations, and assisting in creating dishes according to our restaurant's recipes and specifications. Responsibilities: Follow instructions provided by the Chef Team. Ensure that food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards. Maintain inventory and supplies. Collaborate with kitchen staff to properly prepare menu items. Set up and stock the kitchen with all necessary supplies. Prepare meal ingredients by peeling, cutting, chopping, slicing, and portioning. Measure ingredients and seasonings. Produce menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team. Keep the station clean, organized, and efficient. Rotate inventory correctly. Ensure that all nutrition and sanitation standards are followed. Monitor and report inventory needs to the Sous Chef. Maintain strong and positive communication with the chef team. Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Certificate in Culinary Arts or related experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. In‑depth knowledge of restaurant practices and cooking methods. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently as part of a team. Extensive experience working in busy restaurant environments. 3 to 5+ years of experience in a cook position. Motivated and self‑directed. Pride in service and a constant desire to grow within the craft. A proactive and positive attitude. Benefits include: Medical insurance.
