Senior Software Engineer, Data

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to develop data pipelines and ETL tasks.
• Translate product requirements into actionable project plans for execution by the candidate or peers.
• Establish data architecture processes and practices that are schedulable, automated, replicable, and reusable across teams.
• Design, build, test, roll out, monitor, and maintain data pipelines and asynchronous systems.
• Partner with data leadership to identify and advance meaningful projects across the commercial organization.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
• Expertise in Python and fluency in SQL.
• Experience designing several data pipelines from start to finish.
• Experience creating automated tests, applying design patterns, and following software engineering best practices.
• Experience with APIs, streaming, multithreading, and other asynchronous approaches.
• Understanding of how machine learning and artificial intelligence applications are deployed and monitored.
• Ability to apply a product mindset and prioritize work based on high-level goals.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts simply.
