** Immediate Need: Bloomfield, East Orange, West Orange, Montclair, and surrounding Essex County communities**
Employment Type: W-2 | Per Diem, Part-Time, or Full-Time
Reports To: Clinical Leadership
Compensation: LSW/LAC: $50–$60/hour |  LCSW/LPC: $70–$80/hour
Schedule: Flexible | The greatest service need is generally during after-school and early evening hours , although opportunities may vary based on individual family needs.

Step Up provides IIC services throughout all 21 New Jersey counties and is actively expanding our clinician network statewide. Clinicians have the flexibility to build a caseload based on their availability and geographic preferences, with case opportunities matched based on client needs, clinician availability, location, and clinical fit.

The Intensive In-Community (IIC) Therapist provides in-home and community-based therapeutic services to youth and families. The clinician works directly with children, adolescents, and their families to address identified behavioral health needs, strengthen functioning, develop effective coping strategies, and support progress toward individualized treatment goals.

IIC Therapists provide regularly scheduled therapeutic services in the youth's home and community and are responsible for developing and maintaining treatment plans, delivering clinically appropriate interventions, completing required documentation, and collaborating with families and members of the treatment team.

This role offers clinicians the flexibility to build a caseload based on their availability and geographic preferences while receiving support from Step Up's clinical and operational teams.

• Provide Intensive In-Community therapeutic services to youth and families in their homes and communities. 
• Conduct regularly scheduled therapeutic sessions based on identified clinical needs and established treatment goals. 
• Develop, implement, review, and maintain individualized Treatment Plans. 
• Deliver clinically appropriate therapeutic interventions designed to address behavioral, emotional, and family needs. 
• Engage youth and families as active participants in treatment and support progress toward established goals. 
• Monitor client progress and adjust therapeutic approaches as clinically appropriate. 
• Collaborate with parents/caregivers and members of the youth's treatment team to support continuity of care. 
• Complete required clinical documentation accurately and within established timeframes. 
• Maintain consistent and professional communication regarding scheduling, service delivery, client needs, and changes that may affect services. 
• Participate in clinical supervision, consultation, training, and team collaboration as required. 
• Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical, clinical, organizational, and regulatory standards. 
• Maintain all required professional licenses, credentials, training, and compliance documentation. 
• Travel to assigned clients within the clinician's agreed-upon geographic service area. 

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field appropriate to the clinician's professional license. 
• Experience providing behavioral health or therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and/or families preferred. 
• Experience providing community-based or in-home services preferred. 
• Experience supporting youth and families impacted by trauma, autism/developmental disabilities, substance use, or complex behavioral health needs is highly valued.
• Newly licensed clinicians as well as experienced clinicians are encouraged to apply. 
• Ability to work independently in community-based settings while collaborating effectively with clinical and operational teams. 
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and documentation skills. 
• Ability to engage effectively with youth and families from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. 
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes and community locations within the agreed-upon service area. 

Candidates must hold and maintain an active, applicable New Jersey professional license :

• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) 
• Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) 
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) 
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) 

Clinicians must maintain all licenses, credentials, clearances, training, and other documentation required for their role and participation in Step Up programs. Step Up manages the required credentialing process for clinicians.

• Client & Family-Centered Care: Provide compassionate, individualized therapeutic services that recognize each youth and family's unique clinical needs, strengths, goals, and circumstances. 
• Reliability & Consistency: Maintain dependable attendance for scheduled sessions and communicate proactively about scheduling changes or circumstances that may affect service delivery. 
• Clinical Quality: Exercise sound clinical judgment, follow established treatment goals, monitor progress, and provide services consistent with professional standards and scope of practice. 
• Documentation & Compliance: Complete required documentation accurately and timely while maintaining compliance with Step Up policies, credentialing requirements, professional standards, and applicable program requirements. 
• Communication & Collaboration: Maintain timely, professional communication with families, clinical leadership, treatment team members, and Step Up staff to support continuity and quality of care. 
• Professionalism & Ethics: Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality, ethical conduct, and professional behavior in all interactions. 
• Ownership & Accountability: Take responsibility for assigned cases, scheduling, documentation, communication, and professional requirements, raising concerns or barriers promptly when support is needed. 

IIC services are provided in the youth's home and community and are scheduled around client and family availability.
