Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized nursing care to adult patients before and after surgical procedures
• Assess patient conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and initiate the computerized Plan of Care on admission
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely, and effective patient care; respond quickly to changes in condition
• Perform general nursing duties across departments as needed, while maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering empathetic, culturally competent care
• Communicate therapeutically with patients and families; participate in required education for applicable program curricula; participate in appropriate quality and safety initiatives
• Floated to other departments within scope of practice as needed to support patient care

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Licenses/ Certifications: Current RN license in the State of Oregon; BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Certifications/ Certifications: CMSRN preferred; CRASE training preferred; CRASE may be required if travel extends beyond 6 months
• Experience: Previous Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
• Education and continuing education: Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice
• Additional: Ability to work in a hospital setting with the potential to float to other departments within qualification scope
