Stage One - TECHNICAL WRITER

100% Onsite (no remote work) – Los Angeles CA 90056

We are seeking a Technical Writer that develops, revises, and maintains clear and accurate Stage One department standard operating procedures, system work instructions, workflows, forms instructions, job aids, training resources, and related operational documentation. The position translates complex regulatory, contractual, system, and program information into practical guidance for staff and other end users.

1. Serve as an internal documentation partner to Stage One Program Management, supervisors, trainers, subject matter experts, Information Technology, project management, quality assurance, and other functional areas.
2. Translate approved policy interpretations, contract requirements, business decisions, and system functionality into clear, consistent, and practical procedures for end users.
3. Work collaboratively with the Technical Trainer and Program Trainer to develop, review, implement, evaluate, and maintain department SOPs, system work instructions, and related training resources.
4. Create and maintain workflows, desk guides, job aids, checklists, forms instructions, reference materials, release notes, tutorials, and other operational resources in print or electronic formats.
5. Maintain document inventories, version controls, revision histories, effective dates, source references, review schedules, approvals, and archives for controlled program documentation.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS :

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related technical writing work experience may be substituted for college level education.
• Minimum of four years of professional experience in technical writing. Includes creating new material, rewriting existing material, and editing copy.
• Knowledge of technical writing principles, plain language, editing, proofreading, information design, and document lifecycle management.
• Must have excellent writing, editing, proofreading, organization, business process analysis, problem solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to express complex regulatory, operational, and technical concepts clearly in writing, verbally, and through visual process documentation.
• Ability to interview subject matter experts, evaluate source materials, reconcile feedback, and identify missing or conflicting information.
• Ability to write for different audiences and direct content to the appropriate reader knowledge level.
• Ability to learn software products and accurately document system functionality, user steps, decision points, and exceptions.
