Joby Aviation System Testing Team MemberJoby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our System Testing team. As part of this team, you will perform systems level testing for our VTOL electric aircraft. The data gathered in our integrated test labs will drive hardware and software design improvements and accelerate the path to production-ready components. Your work will play a crucial role in ensuring our aircraft meet the rigorous safety and performance standards required for FAA certification, a key milestone in bringing our innovative technology to market. This position will split time between our Systems Test facilities in Santa Cruz, CA and Marina, CA.ResponsibilitiesPlan, write, and execute system level verification testing in the integrated test labs (ITLs).Perform the responsibility of Pilot-in-the-Loop and Test Directors, and train others.Write Formal Test Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.Develop and maintain configuration control of the ITLs' hardware & software, as well as calibration records.Drive Root Cause Corrective Actions with cross-functional Subject Matter Experts.Develop tools & processes to ensure safe, fast and repeatable test execution.Analyze data collected during the aforementioned tests to generate reports to provide quantifiable feedback to the engineering teams that will allow them to optimize their designsRequiredB.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.5+ years of work experience in relevant industry.Experience running system level tests in a lab environment.Experience with Instrumentation, Data Acquisition Systems and SensorsExperience developing and executing system level Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) testsStrong analytical backgroundExcellent problem solving and communication skillsDesiredExperience with high-voltage power-electronicsExperience with LabVIEW and VeristandExperience with industrial test laboratory environments, procedures and safetyPolarion requirements and test case documentation experienced a plusExperience with aircraft certification (ARP 4754, DO-178), regulatory requirements, compliance testing, aircraft software engineering processes, and test verification.Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $104,000 - $183,000/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
