We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to support the preparation of competitive proposals for Building Automation Projects. The role focuses on air conditioning controls, and other control systems required in buildings and structures. The positions works closely with senior estimators, project manager, and technicians to develop accurate pricing while gaining practical experience in the estimating process for building automation systems.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, and interested in learning how modern building automation systems are installed and commissioned in commercial buildings. Extensive training and mentorship will be provided to help the successful candidate develop the skills required for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of accurate proposals for building automation projects and help meet proposal deadlines.
• Examine drawings, specifications, and related documents to identify the project scope of work.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and request pricing from vendors.
• Keep organized files for all submitted bids, and historical pricing data.
• Become proficient with the company’s estimating tools and related software.
• Assist the estimating process with research, data gathering, and other supporting tasks.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and highly oriented to details.
• General knowledge of construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
• Comfortable using computers and basic software (Excel, Word, email).
• Solid mathematical and analytical skills.
• Interest in learning estimating software and building automation processes.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Background in building automation, controls systems, construction, or estimating is a plus but not required.
