Backend Engineer II (Hybrid - Bellevue, WA)

Compensation Range: $130-150K base compensation + equity

We're looking for a Backend Engineer II who loves ownership, moves quickly, and wants to shape how AI automates real HR workflows for global organizations. What You'll Do

• Build and own backend services in Python (Flask/FastAPI)
• Design APIs, data models, and workflow orchestration for AI agents
• Work across GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Firestore, Elasticsearch
• Integrate with enterprise systems (HRIS, ticketing, communication tools)
• Develop LLM orchestration logic and realtime agent interactions
• Ensure reliability through monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning
• Ship production code weekly and collaborate across product, frontend, and AI teams

What You Bring

• 3+ years backend engineering experience
• Strong Python fundamentals and API design skills
• Experience with SQL + NoSQL databases
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure and containerized environments
• Productminded, pragmatic, and comfortable with ambiguity
• Curiosity about LLMs and how AI shapes backend architecture
