This position is in a community hospital and regional referral center. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and holds a Certified Chest Pain Center designation. The Trauma Level is categorized as III. The unit features 16 beds with a patient ratio of 1:2. Equipment used includes Baxter pumps, with EHR managed through Medhost. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses and treatments include STEMI, NSTEMI, COPD exacerbation, sepsis, CABG, valve repair/replacement, acute respiratory failure, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, ethanol withdrawal, head injury, overdose, stroke, trauma, continuous renal replacement therapy, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Float requirements may include working in an Intermediate Care Unit and ED holding as needed. A call requirement for weekend hours is included in this position. Candidates should be well-versed in handling critical care situations and possess strong foundational skills pertinent to the CVICU setting.
