Mortgage Loan Originator

The company builds high‑quality homes primarily for the entry‑level and first‑time move‑up markets and offers mortgage and title services through its subsidiaries. We are seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator for our Financial Services Branch. The ideal candidate will promote business development, originate loans, and maintain strong relationships with customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interview mortgage applicants to explain financing options and recommend loan programs that suit their goals. Be available to buyers and other parties to answer questions and provide updates. Maintain reports and notes in the origination and customer relationship management systems. Review new leads daily and contact them to generate business. Manage the daily pipeline (loan application to funding) to ensure a smooth process for all involved. Make loan‑product presentations at sales meetings and with sales staff in builder communities. Respond promptly to Operations to facilitate an efficient loan process. Provide required disclosures to applicants in a timely manner in accordance with regulations. Conduct all business professionally and ethically to serve customers and enhance company goodwill and profit. Work overtime and travel overnight as needed. Market the company’s products and services accurately and effectively to potential business sources. Develop mortgage sales leads in builder communities and real‑estate offices. Provide weekend coverage during builder community grand openings. Review borrower documentation for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Adhere to all company QC policies and stay updated on policy changes. Provide input to management and attend production/staff meetings. Occasionally assist with post‑closing/funding issues. Attend loan closings when possible. Qualifications Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university. One to two years of related experience or training. Valid vehicle and driver’s license. Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator in the state. Understanding of general mortgage banking (lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, regulatory timelines). Proficiency with MS Office and email. Preferred Qualifications Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to process and record large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
