Job Description

The Medical Assembler will support research and development efforts by assembling complex medical devices used in diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role contributes to next-generation solutions across vascular access, electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management, neurovascular, structural heart, and broader cardiovascular markets. The position is based in the R&D department and involves precise, hands-on work in a cleanroom environment using microscopes and specialized tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble medical devices and components used in diagnostic and interventional procedures according to detailed work instructions and R&D protocols.
  • Work on assemblies related to vascular access, electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, neurovascular, structural heart, and cardiovascular applications.
  • Perform catheter and related medical device assembly with a high level of precision and consistency.
  • Operate within a cleanroom environment, following all cleanliness, contamination control, and safety procedures.
  • Use a microscope extensively to perform fine, detailed assembly tasks, which may comprise a majority of the workday on some days.
  • Inspect components and finished assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
  • Document work as required, including recording measurements, observations, and any issues encountered during assembly.
  • Collaborate with R&D staff to support prototype builds, process improvements, and product development activities.
  • Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet project timelines and output goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle materials and equipment in accordance with company standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development, demonstrating a willingness to learn new techniques and processes.
  • Arrive reliably and on time, maintaining consistent attendance to support team and project needs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of medical device assembly experience.
  • Proven experience working in a cleanroom environment, following strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures.
  • Hands-on microscope experience, including the ability to perform fine assembly work under magnification for extended periods (potentially 7090% of the day on some days).
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble medical devices and catheters with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong focus on quality and precision in a production or R&D setting.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions and procedures.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and technologies in a dynamic R&D environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with catheter-based products or similar medical assemblies.
  • Experience in production or manufacturing of medical devices.
  • Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with defined quality standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for small component assembly.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
