Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a growing manufacturing operation in Hammond, Indiana. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting industrial equipment, solving mechanical and electrical issues, and working in a fast-paced production environment.This is a third-shift opportunity supporting plant operations, equipment reliability, and preventive maintenance initiatives across the facility.What You'll DoTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment and machineryPerform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipmentDiagnose and repair mechanical systems including conveyors, mixers, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systemsTroubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V, including motors, starters, relays, contactors, and VFDsPerform Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting and fault diagnosticsUtilize electrical testing equipment and meters to identify equipment issuesFollow Lockout/Tagout procedures and all plant safety requirementsMaintain accurate maintenance documentation and work recordsSupport continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiativesWork independently while collaborating with operations and maintenance team membersWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications5+ years of industrial maintenance experienceStrong mechanical troubleshooting and repair experienceExperience troubleshooting electrical systems up to 480VAllen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting experienceExperience working with conveyors, mixers, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumaticsAbility to read and interpret technical documentation and schematicsExperience using hand tools, shop tools, and electrical testing equipmentLockout/Tagout experienceAbility to work independently on an off-shift schedulePreferred QualificationsWelding and fabrication experienceForklift experienceScissor lift experienceExperience working in GMP-regulated manufacturing environmentsWork EnvironmentThis position operates within an industrial manufacturing facility where employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including:RespiratorSteel-toed bootsHearing protectionAdditional PPE as requiredEmployees may work around lead-containing materials and must be comfortable following all safety and environmental protocols.Additional InformationTraining will be conducted on first shift during the initial onboarding periodTypical overtime ranges from 0–5 hours per weekCompany-provided toolsStable manufacturing environment with long-term growth opportunitiesYou should be proficient in:Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills120/208/240/480 Voltage SystemsElectrical TroubleshootingHigh Voltage SystemsPneumatics TroubleshootingWelding Setups for ProductionMaintenance and Repair SkillsEquipment Diagnostics & TroubleshootingLockout/Tagout (LOTO)Electrical Schematic ReadingEquipment Installation & WiringEquipment Repair & MaintenanceMachines & technologies you'll use:Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)Conveyor SystemsServo Motors #J-18808-Ljbffr
