Accountant

Accountant Position

Our client, an Automotive Components company, is looking for an Accountant for their McAllen, TX location.

Responsibilities:

• Compiles and analyzes inventories, COGS (sales basis), and manufacturing costs.
• Reconcile inventories from sub-ledger to G/L, including preparing proper journal entries.
• Review inventory sub-ledgers.
• Understand and analysis system linkage, as we use 2 independent system, GMS (inventories) and ORACLE (financial accounting).
• Understand procedures and controls over inventories and report to management any missing or deficiencies in controls.
• Communicate with other departments to figure out issues over inventories.
• Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative report.
• Reconcile and assess inventory reserves.
• Conduct studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.

Requirements:

• BS (Accounting) degree
• Minimum 5-year experience at accounting industry
• Experience at manufacturing companies is plus
• Understand the concept of BS and IS
• Advanced or intermediate excel skill.
• Logical thinking.
• Understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
• Automobile industry experience (desired)
• Knowledge and Experience of unique transactions in automobile industry (such as ASN and EDI) is big plus.
• Proactive, detail oriented and hands-on attitude desired
• Capability to notice the detail desired.
• Spreadsheets (MS Excel).
• Databases (MS Access) – intermediate or more is a plus.
• Word Processing (MS Word) – intermediate or more is a plus.
