Accountant Position
Our client, an automotive components company, is looking for an accountant for their McAllen, TX location.
Responsibilities:
- Compiles and analyzes inventories, COGS (sales basis), and manufacturing costs.
- Reconcile inventories from sub-ledger to G/L, including preparing proper journal entries.
- Review inventory sub-ledgers.
- Understand and analysis system linkage, as we use 2 independent system, GMS (inventories) and ORACLE (financial accounting).
- Understand procedures and controls over inventories and report to management any missing or deficiencies in controls.
- Communicate with other departments to figure out issues over inventories.
- Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative report.
- Reconcile and assess inventory reserves.
- Conduct studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
Requirements:
- BS (Accounting) degree
- Minimum 5-year experience at accounting industry
- Experience at manufacturing companies is plus
- Understand the concept of BS and IS
- Advanced or intermediate excel skill.
- Logical thinking.
- Understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Automobile industry experience (desired)
- Knowledge and experience of unique transactions in automobile industry (such as ASN and EDI) is big plus.
- Proactive, detail oriented and hands-on attitude desired
- Capability to notice the detail desired.
- Spreadsheets (MS Excel).
- Databases (MS Access) – intermediate or more is a plus.
- Word Processing (MS Word) – intermediate or more is a plus.
