Specialty Lab Assistant
$17.75 - $22.76 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for its San Diego diagnostic facility. The role involves receiving, preparing, and scanning clinical specimens while maintaining lab equipment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Night shift position (Monday-Friday, 8:30 PM-5:00 AM) with potential for additional hours.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing and analysis
- Scan and enter specimen and patient information into systems
- Monitor lab equipment functionality and perform routine maintenance
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and maintain inventory supplies
- Maintain clean, safe work environment and complete administrative documentation
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens and identifying them accurately
- Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency
- Ability to work extended periods sitting or standing in production environment
- Pass standardized color blindness test
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred: prior laboratory, healthcare, or manufacturing experience
Compensation: $17.75 - $22.76 per hour, plus shift differential
