Job Summary


Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their team. The primary responsibilities include assisting with patient examinations, measuring and recording vital signs, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR. The role also involves front office duties and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.


Key Responsibilities

• Measures and records vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, etc.).
• Documents patient interviews, histories, vital signs, treatments, and test results in the EMR accurately and timely.
• Assists medical staff with patient examinations and procedures.
• Maintains and sterilizes medical instruments and supplies.
• Adheres to policies on protecting patient information.
• Participates in development activities and is involved with medical assistant associations.
• Supports preventative healthcare programs and a team-based approach to delivery.
• Handles front office duties including reception, check-in/check-out, payment collection, and scheduling.
• Performs routine screening tests and blood draws when directed.
• Draws and prepares patient samples for laboratory analysis.
• Administers medications and immunizations as ordered.
• Assists in external/internal referrals scheduling.
• May require travel for certain clients and health centers.

Qualifications

• MA experience, family practice preferred.
• Comfortable performing independent blood draws.
• MA diploma/certification preferred.

Skills

• Strong technical skills related to electronic medical records (EMR).
• Proficient in independent blood draw techniques.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Additional Requirements

• Commitment to a team-based approach in healthcare delivery.
• Certain positions may require travel.
