Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Central Sterile Tech. In this role, under general supervision, you will clean, follow good aseptic technique, process, sterilize and assemble patient care equipment, supplies and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques. In doing so, decontaminates instruments and other reusable items using cleaning and decontaminating equipment, detergents and disinfecting agents. You will Prepare, wrap, package, seal, label and sterilize instruments, trays, equipment, linens and a variety of supplies using steam or Abtox sterilizers. You will keep accurate records of sterilization processes and monitoring according to hospital policy.

• Operate decontamination, process and sterilization equipment.
• Clean and decontaminate patient care equipment such as infusion and feeding.
• Assists with maintaining complete and accurate sterilization monitoring records, departmental processing requisitions and records of Safety Monitoring Systems.
• Communicate and interacts appropriately with other department personnel to meet their needs on a timely basis.
• Make rounds to departments to pick up and deliver instruments that require processing.

What qualifications you will need:

• (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
• Approximately three to four months of on the job experience and training is necessary in order to learn the use and safe handling of processing and sterilization equipment and monitoring systems, disinfectant solutions, aseptic technique and the Policies and Procedures of the department.
• Ability to speak, write legible and read English in order to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency needs; understand and follow written and verbal cleaning, decontamination
