Step into a meaningful, full-time role supporting students as a School Social Worker in a vibrant educational community. This onsite contract opportunity offers two openings—one at the middle school level and one at the elementary level—where you’ll provide vital services to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with your assignment beginning as soon as possible and running through June 10, 2027. Bring your school-based expertise and passion for making a difference to a dynamic urban environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active MSW license in Pennsylvania required
- Must have prior experience in a school setting
- Compliance with PA Dept of Education regulations: either a valid, active School Social Worker Educational Specialist certificate, or be an LSW/LCSW enrolled in a PDE-approved program
- Ability to secure or complete all PA clearances for school-based professionals
- Comfortable working with diverse student populations in an urban setting
What You’ll Do:
- Provide individual and group counseling to support student mental health and well-being
- Collaborate with educators, families, and community agencies to address barriers to learning
- Develop and implement tailored intervention plans to foster student success
- Facilitate crisis intervention when necessary and advocate for student needs
- Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive school environment
