Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, order necessary diagnostic assessments, and develop tailored treatment plans
• Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, or episodic health concerns in partnership with physicians or independently (as per your credentials)
• Empower patients and families with knowledge on preventive care, wellness, and effective disease management
• Prescribe clinical medications and treatments conforming to your scope of practice
• Engage in follow-up care and chronic disease management initiatives
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive and integrated patient care
• Create accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)

Educational Pathways

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Nursing program

Mandatory Credentials

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Alaska
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to acquire within 90 days)
