Pastor of Student Ministry

FUNCTION: Lead the church to develop and maintain an effective ministry to Students (grades 7-12). This position is a ministerial staff position and is under the direct supervision of the Lead Pastor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Work directly with Student Ministry leadership in planning, resourcing and supporting the reaching, teaching and ministering for students in cooperation with the Sunday School Coordinator(s) and the Grow Team.

2.Organize events, retreats, workshops, and weekly studies designed to encourage commitment, growth and discipleship toward Christian maturity for the various stages of the lives of students.

3.Provide leadership for visitation and outreach to students.

4.Collaborate with other staff members in churchwide reaching, teaching and ministering efforts.

5.Serve as spiritual advisor, minister and mentor to students.

6.Advise in the use, purchase and maintenance of program materials, equipment, supplies and space for student ministry activities.

7.Plan and coordinate training for all volunteer adult leadership working with students.

8.Attend and/or participate in convention/conference to enhance personal and professional growth as provided in the budget.

9.Oversee and comply with church policy and efforts related to safety and security of all students when a part of any Parkside event.

COMMITTEES:

1.Serve as a member of the Church Council.

2.Present a yearly budget request to the Finance Committee for needed program funds and expenditures.

3.Serve as staff liaison to assigned committees.

Because Parkside places a strong emphasis on being part of and investing in the Denison community, we do expect our Youth Pastor to live in Denison if he accepts the position.
