CDL TrainerQualifications:High school or general education diploma preferredExcellent driving recordPossesses Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake, passenger, and school bus endorsementsMeets all federal, state, and local district requirements for the operation of a school busPasses background check and random drug testingAbility to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required dutiesAbility to work with staff of all backgroundsAbility to complete all necessary training in a timely fashionReports to: Athletic Director(s)Terms of Employment: The contract is hourly based on the Miscellaneous Salary Schedule.Evaluation: Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the transportation supervisor.Job Goal: Train and prepare prospective school bus drivers to obtain their CDL and required school bus endorsements by providing effective classroom, behind-the-wheel, and safety instruction in accordance with state, federal, and district requirements.Performance Responsibilities:Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.Performs pre-trip inspections on buses and reports any mechanical, electrical, or safety issues to the Transportation Department.Maintains a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times.Obeys all traffic laws.Ensures safety of all staff.Attends safety meetings.Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request.Operates a two-way radio.Other duties, as assigned.This job description is in no way an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, functions, or working conditions associated with the job.
