Junior Communications/Marketing Coordinator

We have an exciting long-term contract opportunity for an onsite Communications/Marketing Coordinator with a leading state agency here in Austin.

Communications Coordinator I

100% onsite, Austin TX

• Assist with strategic campaigns that drive engagement, elevate brand presence, and support key organizational initiatives.
• Assist with social media efforts to promote the Division’s strategy, work efforts and accomplishments.
• Assist with advancing enterprise AI adoption by leading awareness, communication, and training efforts that support organizational readiness and maximize the value of AI investments.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Change Management or related field.
• 6-12+ months of marketing or corporate communications experience.
• Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email and landing page optimization.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint.
• MS Access experience preferred.
• Report Writer and/or Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Execution

• Assist with the build out, implementation, and management a comprehensive social media strategy.
• Develop and deliver creative assets (posts, graphics, videos) that align with organizational objectives.
• Monitor engagement trends and adjust strategies to maximize impact.

Communication Campaigns

• Assist with planning and executing targeted communication campaigns around major implementations, initiatives, and organizational changes.
• Ensure messaging consistency across all platforms and mediums.
• Support enterprise AI initiatives through targeted outreach, stakeholder engagement, and training-focused communications to drive awareness and adoption.

Brand Management

• Assist with maintaining and reinforcing brand identity through all communications.
• Review newsletters, press releases, and other materials for consistent messaging and branding.
• Identify photo and media opportunities to enhance visibility.

Strategic Planning & Evaluation

• Assist with the creation, implementation and evaluating communication strategies aligned with the organization’s strategic plan.
• Set measurable goals and monitor effectiveness using analytics and market research.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in artificial intelligence to inform communication approaches, workforce enablement, and organizational priorities.

Accessibility & Compliance

• Understand and apply EIR Accessibility requirements throughout the project lifecycle (planning, design, development, testing).
• Ensure resources and processes are in place to meet accessibility standards.
