This person requires proficiency in all services the company provides and acts as liaison between the crew and the Owners/Operations Team. Opportunity for advancement from this role to a Division/Team Lead role. The first job of the crew lead is to support the VP of Field Operations: Anticipate and take care of crew, truck, trailer, and shop needs. Stay in communication w/VP of Field Ops. Crew: Update VP of Field Ops on crew performance, i.e. professional development, DRIVEN principals. Shop: Communicate material needs. Keep headlamps & batteries charged. Trash in the dumpster. Truck & Trailer: Kept tidy, fueled up, stocked, and communicated any repairs needed. Plan ahead and take initiative. Every day before you leave the shop, look at the next day’s job. Is there a color change that needs done? Do we have all the stencils we need, etc. Ask the VP of Field Ops any questions about the SOW for the next day to clarify any questions. Come early and stay late. Arrive early enough to prep the truck/trailer/materials for the jobsite. Crew members should leave the shop within 10 minutes of their scheduled start time. Everything needs to be on the truck/trailer and ready to go upon their arrival. Save all receipts. Place all receipts in the office weekly. Held accountable for missing receipts. Follow procedures. Don’t take shortcuts. Work through reports as a checklist and not just as a report. Do reports when/where they are supposed to be done. Ensure the job is done correctly and fully so that return trips are not needed. Aim for zero safety incidents. Focus on safety first, quality second, and speed third. Responsibilities: Learn, understand, and ask questions to clarify Scope of Work (SOW) Exhibit strong leadership skills (Act as manager and coach first in partnership with other leaders, and as a crew member second.) Provide line‑painting and parking lot maintenance services at an exceptional level (model expectations) Effectively communicate SOW & the steps needed to take to complete the job, assign roles based on skills, and organize time on job sites following the SWARM protocol Show care for the team by helping them to grow their skills. (ex: Teach new skills, and if you see something being done incorrectly, stop crew members in their tracks and show them how to do it correctly in a kind and helpful way.) Be a team player by remaining neutral, never taking sides or showing favoritism to crew members Maintain a laser focus, pay extreme attention to detail, and take notes when needed Take an initiative always: Always be a step ahead, and look for what needs done next. Always come prepared to work with tools, equipment, safety items, cell phone, etc. Work on your own Professional Development: Use KnowHow to learn what you don’t know how to do, i.e. how to operate a sealcoater, how to do new layouts, how to troubleshoot all of the equipment, etc. Before starting on “the work”, always communicate the plan with other crew members, ensuring everyone has a responsibility and knows what they are to be working on. Maintain equipment: (make KnowHow your best friend, taking time to learn) Complete minor maintenance tasks as needed while on site Complete non‑routine maintenance on site if it arises Act as the go between person for EverLine and the client while on site and their crew and management when discussing crew concerns. Quality Control: Take accountability for quality, presentation, and safety of your crew. Double check everyone’s work. Even the owner needs a second set of eyes on things. Pay attention to ALL details, i.e. Paint chips left on ground/not swept up, trailer locked, backup camera turned off, paint and acetone cans completely sealed, lid to seal coater closed, all steps in KnowHow followed for different processes i.e. cleaning out crack fillers. Perform quality checks during each project and at the end of every shift before leaving site Time Management : Know the amount of time each project should take and work to ensure crew members make strong efforts to meet job completion time expectations. Safety : Ensure that all crew members have and use proper PPE. Follow safety protocols (i.e. complete FLHA, know when to use cones, know what steps need taken to keep crew safe, be aware of your surroundings at all times, hold crew members accountable for their safety) Responsible for ensuring crew member compliance to EverLine written policies and enforcing disciplinary measures both formal, and informal as deemed necessary Responsible for on‑site decision making in adverse situations Key Skills: Strong leadership skills, problem solving, time management skills, attention to detail and organized (take notes in phone, carry a notepad, make “to do” lists), take initiative Ability to delegate effectively, manage multiple simultaneous tasks with shifting priority and work well independently and as part of a team Mechanical aptitude Requirements: PA driver’s license and clean driving record. Self motivated. Ability to work in a physically and mentally demanding role. Ability to lift 75 pounds occasionally. Professional Development Required Reading (or Listening): Excellence Wins & The Energy Bus (reimbursement for audiobooks) Upskill Trainings when available: Mastic, IR repairs, TBL, Epoxy, Installs, Other Traffic Coatings, etc. Mentorship: Seek to be mentored by the VP of Field Ops and act as a mentor to PMTs interested in growing into Crew Lead roles. Data Scorecard for KPIs: Job Completion Rate: Percentage of jobs completed on time and to spec. Worksite Readiness & Start Time Compliance: Ensuring the crew starts jobs on time and is fully prepared. Material Usage Efficiency: Keeping waste within acceptable limits. First‑Pass Quality Rate: Percentage of jobs completed without requiring return visits. Job Site Inspections Passed: Number of internal quality audits that meet company standards. Adherence to SOPs & Safety Protocols: Following EverLine’s standard operating procedures and ensuring safety compliance. Crew Retention Rate: How many team members stay under your leadership.
