Job Summary:
The Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) provides essential support to nursing staff by assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity. The role involves delivering patient-centered care in accordance with established policies and standards within a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, and ambulating.
• Take and record initial vital signs and weights, reporting any changes promptly to nursing staff.
• Follow universal precautions and maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
• Monitor and document resident intake and output in accordance with standard procedures and physician orders.
• Support orientation for new residents and their families, providing information about unit services.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to deliver consistent, compassionate care.

Qualifications:

• Must hold an active Maine C.N.A License.
• Demonstrate strong listening and communication skills to support resident needs.
• Ability to accurately take vital signs and record measurements.
• Show empathy and patience when interacting with residents and families.
• Be flexible, dependable, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Comply with safety protocols, including universal precautions.
