Location: San Francisco, CA 94103 (100% On-Site)
Job Type: Contract (6 Months) W2
Pay Rate: $55-$60/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Compensation Manager to support and advise on U.S. and international compensation programs. This role will serve as a key compensation subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance on broad-based and sales compensation initiatives while partnering closely with business leaders, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and Compensation teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, expertise in compensation program management, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Compensation Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and business leaders to provide guidance on compensation strategies, programs, and policies.
- Influence and advise leaders on compensation-related decisions while balancing business needs, market competitiveness, and internal equity.
- Drive compensation process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance programs, policies, and workflows.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business objectives and develop innovative compensation solutions that support organizational growth.
- Partner with Compensation Analytics & Design teams to execute and administer compensation programs.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analyses to ensure competitive pay practices.
- Present compensation analyses and complex data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner for leadership audiences.
- Manage compensation-related projects and support ongoing program enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of broad-based compensation experience.
- 3+ years of sales compensation experience.
- Strong knowledge of compensation program design, administration, and market benchmarking.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex compensation concepts to senior leaders and business partners.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives and managing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a high-growth technology environment.
- Background in SaaS, marketplace platforms, on-demand logistics, or food delivery industries is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting both U.S. and international compensation programs.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets data modeling and analytical skills.
- Ability to analyze large, complex datasets and translate findings into strategic business recommendations.
- Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with commission management platforms such as CaptivateIQ, Spiff, or Xactly.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM.
- Knowledge of compensation analytics and incentive compensation design.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
