Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with active VA license (or pending status), ARRT and BLS certification, and 2+ years of experience for a hospital Therapeutic Radiology department on day shift.

Hospital-based Therapeutic Radiology department

Provides daily care and radiation treatment delivery for cancer patients

Performs simulations and may provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students

Assists with Brachytherapy procedures and treatment planning including tumor localization and dosimetry

Uses EPIC for electronic medical records

Schedule is Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour day shifts, 8:00am-4:30pm with some variation

No weekend or on-call requirements

No floating requirements

Active VA Radiation Therapist license or VA Temporary License pending status

ARRT certification required

BLS certification from AHA only, not expiring within 30 days of start

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist

Responsibilities include verifying prescriptions, patient identification, and treatment setup accuracy

Interfaces with physicists, dosimetrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers throughout treatment course

Prepares treatment rooms and equipment, sets up immobilization devices, and takes treatment images

Monitors patients during treatment and documents doses and side effects accurately

Sets up IMRT and 3-D patients in CT and documents proper setup instructions

Maintains visual and audible contact with patients during treatment sessions

Scrub color is Caribbean Blue per facility dress code policy

Candidates must live outside a 65-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
