MRI Technician

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients; select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body
Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination
Enter and monitor patient data; transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce transparencies; develop film in an automatic processor
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, patient data/history)
Ensure equipment is properly functioning; report potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel
Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other department spaces

Experience Required

2 years of relevant experience
2 years of independent scanning required

Skills & Certifications

MRI imaging and cross-sectional scanning
Patient positioning and pre-screening
Radiation safety protocols

Eligibilities & qualifications

PACS documentation and image quality management
Equipment monitoring and troubleshooting
