Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry/Progressive Care at Southern Illinois Healthcare in Carbondale, Illinois. This 13-week contract assignment offers an opportunity to provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population with cardiac and respiratory conditions within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The unit maintains a 4:1 patient ratio, allowing for focused patient care. Acuity levels fluctuate, providing a dynamic clinical experience where your skills in patient assessment and critical thinking will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible persons regarding care and treatment.
• Utilize nursing clinical judgment to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition.
• Contribute to a healthy workplace by effectively managing conflict through professional communication skills.
• Ensure compliance with Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Actively participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records in accordance with facility standards.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting.
• Ability to work in Carbondale, Illinois.

Shift Details

• Overtime: Overtime opportunities are available.
• Scheduling: While block schedules cannot be guaranteed, efforts will be made to accommodate preferred scheduling requests.

Licensing Requirements

• Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (CPR).
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
