Registered Nurse RN CVOR Cardiovascular Operating Room

Job Overview Position: Circulating Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and Main OR at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona. Category: Nursing. Work Shift: Day Shift (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) with on‑call duties. Competitive pay with up to $15,000 sign‑on bonus. Shift Details Day shift (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM). On‑call: Yes. Hourly differential: $3 per hour for weekend shifts and 18% for night shifts when applicable. Responsibilities Maintain patient safety and support the surgical team during cardiothoracic procedures, including cardiopulmonary bypass, TEE, and vascular access. Perform cardiac and vascular lab tests and interpret results. Assess patients across physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural domains and develop individualized care plans. Coordinate multidisciplinary care, delegate and supervise nursing staff, and ensure continuity of care. Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations in the patient record in a timely and accurate manner. Participate in evidence‑based practice, research activities, unit leadership, and education of staff, students, families, and visitors. Promote quality improvement initiatives and national nursing quality indicators. Supervise staff and workflow where applicable and interact with external contacts and clergy for spiritual support. Minimum Qualifications Current valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact RN license for the state). BLS certification required. Minimum of one year experience as an operating room RN. For new service or new operating room nurses, completion of the Perioperative Academy curriculum and Banner RN Perioperative Services Competency Tool within first year. Annual validation of clinical performance competencies for the area of practice. For registry or travel acute care positions, minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital within the past 12 months. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. One year of operating room and/or cardiovascular or vascular experience. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education or experience preferred.
