Line Cook

Khmai is seeking experienced line cooks to join our back of house team! 

We are a traditional Cambodian restaurant that serves authentic recipes from the Khmer culture. 

We are focused on representing Cambodian culture and cuisine to the Chicagoland community and increase access to the unique and complex flavors of traditional Cambodian dishes. We offer two different concepts for our patrons in one location, a rotating tasting menu with traditional flavors from the different regions of Cambodia, and a bar casual side that pairs our in house craft cocktails and wine selections with Cambodian street food dishes for both dinner and lunch. 

We are seeking line cooks and line lead for both dinner and lunch shifts, who are professional, dedicated to their craft, passionate about representing food and culture, and are seeking to hone their experience with different flavor profiles and unique ingredients and work with a positive team to deliver the best experience we can for our guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Prepare and execute dishes according to set standards.
-Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and quality.
-Work efficiently in fast-paced kitchen environment.
-Arrive on time to designated shifts.
-Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
-Assist with prep work across all stations.
-Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service.
-Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
-1+ years of experience working as a line cook in a full-service restaurant.
-Basic knife skills
-Ability to work under pressure
-Passion and interest in southeast asian cuisine and attention to detail
-Team player with positive attitude.
-Availability to work Wednesday-Sunday, and on holidays.
