For more information about Bristol Hospice, visit bristolhospice.com or follow us on LinkedIn.Our CultureOur culture is cultivated using the following values:Integrity: We are honest and professional.Trust: We count on each other.Excellence: We strive to always do our best and look for ways to improve and excel.Accountability: We accept responsibility for our actions, attitudes, and mistakes.Mutual Respect: We treat others the way we want to be treated.An Average Day:(Includes, but not limited to)Supervise all hospice physician employees and contract hospice physiciansAct as a medical resource person to the IDT/IDG and attend IDT/IDG conferencesAssure overall continuity of the hospice medical servicesAssure that the patient receives appropriate measures to control uncomfortable symptomsCollaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute the organization's clinical strategyContribute to the growth and expansion of hospice services by identifying opportunities for new programs or servicesCollaborate with the IDT/IDG to ensure that the medical needs of the patient are met and provide oversight of the plan of careCertify that the patient meets the medical criteria for hospice admission based upon available diagnostic and prognostic indicators, related diagnosis(es) if any, current subjective and objective medical findings, current medication and treatment orders, information about the medical management of any of the patient’s conditions unrelated to the terminal illnessCollaborate with the patient’s attending physician to develop and update thepatient’s plan of care, to identify needs not met by the attending physician, and toensure pain and symptom management and controlRe-certify patients, as appropriate, for continuation of Medicare Hospice Benefit atappropriate levels of careServe as a medical resource to hospice staff, patients, families and attendingphysicians regarding pain and symptom control managementEnsure the provision of direct medical services to patients either directly or througharrangements, as appropriate, in the absence of the patient’s attending physicianParticipate in plan of care development and managing oversight of medications andtreatmentDocument care provided in the patient’s clinical record providing evidence ofprogression of the end-state-disease processMaintain current knowledge of the latest research and trends in hospice care andpain/symptom managementParticipate in performance improvement programs, as indicatedProvide consultation and education to colleagues and attending physicians relatedto admission criteria for hospice and palliative careDevelop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure thehighest standards of careDemonstrate knowledge in communications and counseling of the patient/family indealing with end-of-life issuesParticipate in resolution of interpersonal conflict and issues of clinical and ethicalconcernParticipate in the development and updating of patient care policies and emergencyproceduresParticipate in the development of physician identification, contracting, on-boardingAct as a liaison to physicians in the communityOther duties as assignedRequirements:Must be Board Certified in a related specialty.Must have expertise in the medical care of terminally ill individuals.Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership rolewithin hospice or palliative care.Must have and maintain current licensure in good standing.Must be available for travel, sometimes with little to no noticeBe flexible with your time, having the ability to work after hours as neededExperience in multi-site clinical leadership and management is strongly preferred.We Got the Perks: (full-time benefits)Bonus EligibleTuition ReimbursementPTO and Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and moreHSA & 401(k) availableMileage Reimbursement for applicable positionsAdvanced training programsPassionate company culture committed to the highest standard of care in the hospice industryJoin a Team that embraces the reverence of life!EEOC StatementBristol Hospice is an equal-opportunity employer.
