Job Overview

Position: Cardiovascular Technician RCIS

Work Schedule: Day shifts with on-call requirements, Monday through Friday, following an 8X5 day format (United States).

Key Responsibilities

• Support the technical aspects of invasive cardiovascular procedures under the guidance of the supervisor and physician.
• Assist in the training and orientation of new staff and students.
• Act as a monitor technician during procedures in the cath lab, interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmias and EKGs, while operating physiological recorders and analyzing normal and abnormal pressures and waveforms.
• Function as a scrub technician during various procedures, operating imaging equipment as directed by the physician.
• Serve as a circulator for certain diagnostic procedures, monitoring patient status, providing supplies to the scrub technician, and managing imaging equipment under physician supervision.
• Facilitate the transport of patients to and from the department.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in the cath lab.
• Exhibit knowledge of medications and their dosages utilized in procedures.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of procedural theory.
• Order supplies for the cath lab and manage inventory effectively.
• Ensure post-procedure safety by removing arterial and/or venous sheaths, maintaining hemostasis, and monitoring patient status.
• Prepare the lab for procedures by setting up and adhering to sterile techniques.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including shaving, prepping, and marking arterial pulses.
• Troubleshoot any equipment issues that may arise.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree with a focus on science, or equivalent healthcare experience.
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred):
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• RCIS certification must be obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) certifications are required if RCIS is not held.

Working Environment

The organization is situated on a 40+ acre campus near Dallas Parkway, designed to be the community's first comprehensive hospital, catering to Celina and its neighboring areas. The four-story facility will initially offer 51 beds, with plans for future expansion, and will provide a variety of services, including cardiology, women's health, orthopedics, robotic surgery, and more. Additionally, the campus will feature a 40,000-square-foot medical office building.
