Requirements
- Infection Control License
- Licensed dental hygienist
Licensure: Valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of California to practice.
Skills: Proficiency in all aspects of patient care, including clinical cleaning, root planing, and patient assessment.
Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of dental sterilization, infection control, and disinfection procedures.
Communication: A friendly, professional, and compassionate approach to patient interaction and health education.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Job Description
Clinical Care: Provide exceptional hygiene services, including prophylaxis (cleanings), scaling, and root planing (periodontal therapy).
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, current health status, and diagnostic evaluation.
Preventive Treatments: Administer fluoride treatments, apply dental sealants, and use soft tissue medicaments and desensitizers as needed.
Treatment Planning: Collaborate with healthcare professionals/dentists to assist with developing personalized care plans for patient treatment.
Patient Education: Educate and counsel patients on maintaining optimal oral health, hygiene practices, and preventative strategies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient charting and managing patient records in compliance with all office protocols.
Infection Control: Uphold the offices rigorous standards for dental sterilization procedures, disinfection, and overall healthcare infection prevention and control.
Technology Use: Utilize advanced tools, potentially including lasers, for periodontal care.
