Data Specialist

The essential functions of the position within the organization are to plan and prepare studies and reports for the Offices of Fire Rescue; coordinate tracking activities for staffing, training and incident reports; and develop and maintain databases and computer programs for use in evaluation, analysis, reports and recommendations. The position is responsible for collecting and analyzing field data from various sources, compiling data for grants, reports and recommendations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases, assisting with public safety activities, and performing administrative and technical tasks as assigned. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.


This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


Requires Associate degree or the equivalent of two years of college or vocational school education in computer technology, engineering technology, or a closely related field with two (2) years of related experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with coursework or demonstrated proficiency in SQL, relational databases, data analytics, statistics, or information systems.

Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
