Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianL&R is the largest distributor and the sixth largest purchaser of cosmetics in the United States. We now distribute over 40,000 items (cosmetics, toys, school supplies, hosiery, hair accessories, OTC, HBA and more) through three regional warehouse locations in Arkansas, New Jersey and Nevada.The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and troubleshooting problems related to the conveyor system and warehouse equipment and keeping the facility operating and repairing problems. Also performing routine maintenance around the distribution center and applying preventative measures to the building and machinery to reduce the risk of future problems.Key responsibilities include:Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goalsAbility to maintain and troubleshoot basic power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materialsAbility to maintain and troubleshoot basic relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components—photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encodersBasic knowledge of PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting), components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet)Determining work procedures, preparing work schedules and expedite workflowEnsuring that all employees are in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and proceduresQualifications:High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and experience in repairing and maintaining conveyors and powered industrial machines.Skills required:SafetyTime managementExcellent technical and mechanical skillsTroubleshooting abilityExpertise in general maintenance, plumbing and electrical repairWillingness to learn computerized scanning devicePhysical demands:This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds; regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head; occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds; engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists; ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
