Physical Therapist Assistant

The WelbeHealth Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is an integral part of the IDT collaborating with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement care plans and provide direct care to participants. Under the direction of a Physical Therapist the PTA provides restorative and rehabilitative physical therapy services to participants at the center and in their homes to maximize independence safety and to develop or restore function.

• Have lower patient volumes no more seeing 3-4 patients an hour
• Form long-term relationships with participants rather than short-term rehab stints

On the day-to-day you will:

• Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist
• Assist the Physical Therapist in obtaining vital signs ranges of motion and strength testing
• Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the participants individual treatment plans
• Handle scheduling of participants treatments clinical visits and billing
• Document physical therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans including but not limited to active and passive exercise muscle re-education gait functional training of ADLs and treatments (e.g. massage heat sound water light or electricity)

Job requirements include:

• PTA associates degree from an accredited program
• Valid PTA license or proof of license eligibility
• PTA knowledge necessary to treat frail elderly participants with complex needs
